Every brushstroke I make is a love letter to nature. I’m Kajsa Li, a self-taught illustrator and artist, creating from the serene landscapes of northern Sweden and Denmark—both places I proudly call home.
Nature’s beauty is my endless muse, a gentle reminder of our roots and connections. Whether I’m fully immersed in the waves and wind or observing the play of light and shadow, nature’s essence guides my creativity. This dance between participant and observer breathes life into my art.
Starting with watercolors and drawing, I’ve expanded into acrylics, mixed media, and digital painting. Each medium allows me to capture the rich textures and everyday magic of nature. My illustrations invite you to pause and explore the quiet stories and deep connections our environment offers.
Storytelling through Paintings

My watercolour “By The River”, of dandelion bells by a flowing stream captures my youthful fascination with water, influenced by childhood reads like Anne of Green Gables. This piece is a tribute to our whimsical, poetic bonds with nature, much like Anne’s own enchanting stories. As an adult I’ve always strived to keep the dreamy and childish part of my very much alive.

As I paint, each stroke tells a narrative, weaving together personal reflections with historical tales. “Forever Fields,” a corn field full of red poppies, for instance, draws from both a photo of a lush summer field and the poignant history of poppies becoming symbols of hope in post-war landscapes.
Canvas as a New Beginning
Every blank canvas is a dormant seed, waiting for its moment to bloom. Nature’s resilience—like trees bending but not breaking or dandelions pushing through concrete—inspires my work. Sometimes art emerges unexpectedly, and sometimes it needs a little nudge. Just like nature, we persist and find our strength.
Staying True to Your Creative Voice
In life and art, authenticity is key. In our creative journeys, it’s essential to remain true to our artistic voice, resisting the pull of fleeting trends. Celebrate those who genuinely appreciate your work, and above all, stand firm as your own greatest supporter.
